Our scouts had the opportunity to build a suspension bridge for the 2022 Jeppe Highland Gathering and get the word out that scouting is alive and well.
A big thank you to all who contributed towards this project from building and transport to support and just being . Special mention to our parents and scouts who joined us - your sons did us proud. It was great to have so many visitors to our stand enquiring about cubs and scouts and some reliving their scouting memories - from Girl Guides to Springboks and even some Akelas!
A big congratulations to our scouting pipeband members who took part today. Sabastian Cruz (patrol lead for Eagles) got a first in the drum major competition and his school Jeppe reaped in a couple of awards. Everyone was surprised to see Ewen McAlpine (scout group leader) and Andrew Campbell (our district commissioner) in kilts instead of their scout uniforms - what a treat to hear them play the bag pipes.
Coming up next.... Kon Tiki!
Congratulations to Tony, James and Henry who were invested as scouts on Friday. Also to Liam and Noah who had their going up ceremony from cubs to scouts.
Kon Tiki preparation on Friday night. KonTiki Team 6
